Apple, pear & orange zest porridge
February mornings got you down? This gut-approved porridge is more than just oats in a bowl—it’s cosy, comforting and full of tummy-loving goodness. Here’s why it’s so good:
Seasonal fruits: Apples and pears are late-winter favourites, adding natural sweetness and fibre.
Bright accents: Orange zest and pomegranate seeds or cranberries give your porridge a pop of colour and freshness—perfect for dreary February mornings.
Warming spices: Cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg make every spoonful feel like a hug for your digestive system.

- Fibre from oats, fruit, and seeds

Add in crunchy walnuts, a drizzle of yacon syrup, and your breakfast is both nourishing and indulgent!
Ingredients (serves 1):
- 45g rolled oats
- 240ml unsweetened oat or almond milk
- ¼ TSP cinnamon
- ¼ TSP ground ginger
- Small pinch of nutmeg
- 50g chopped or grated apple
- 30g chopped or grated pear
- The zest of ½ small orange
- 10g chia or flaxseeds
- 10g Complete Prebiotic
- Optional toppings: walnuts, pomegranate seeds or dried cranberries, yacon syrup
Method:
- In a saucepan, combine the oats, milk, apple, pear, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and orange zest. Heat over a medium heat, stirring occasionally, until creamy and thick (5–8 mins).
- Stir in chia or flaxseeds for extra fibre and texture.
- Remove from heat and gently stir in Chuckling Goat’s Complete Prebiotic.
- Transfer to a bowl and top with walnuts, pomegranate seeds or cranberries, and a drizzle of yacon syrup.
