And… just in time to save us from the why-does-it-feel-like-winter-when-it’s-supposed-to-be-summer blues… it’s the DELIGHTFUL DAHLIAS! Vic the Garden took these pics, aren’t they amazing?
And it’s just as well that the dahlias are adding some much needed glamour at the moment, as the wind blew over a couple of my bean teepees and it feels like everything’s in a bit of disarray….
But it’s time to order spring bulbs – always my favourite job of the year! And so I start plotting away again, planning my bulb lasagnes for the dolly tubs around the farmyard and oak tubs that live up around the factory.
Two layers of tulips on the bottom, with a layer of early crocuses on the top, I think – pinks and whites for the factories like so:

Yum! What could be more optimistic than planning for another year – THIS time it’s bound to work! (*she says, muttering away under her breath and crossing her fingers…)
