Looking for a delicious, nutritious drink for those warm spring days? Then look no further – this recipe is for you!

Matcha is a powdered green tea traditionally from Japan and has grown in popularity worldwide for its taste, vibrant colour, versatility, and health-promoting effects. An iced collagen matcha latte is a great way to start the day or when the dreaded afternoon slump hits.

This recipe combines the benefits of matcha and collagen to create the ultimate health elixir!

Matcha benefits

Each glass of matcha is a nutritional powerhouse! Here are some of the all-important nutrients matcha contains –

Fibre

As gut health experts, we love plants as they contain fibre! Fibre is a non-negotiable when it comes to good gut health. Prebiotics come from fibre, and your gut microbes feed on these prebiotics to stimulate their growth. Consuming a variety of plant fibres is a great way to support your gut microbiome health.

Antioxidants

Matcha contains various antioxidants like catechins, quercetin, vitamin C, rutin, and caffeine.1https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7796401/ Yes, you read that right! Caffeine not only provides a much-needed energy boost, but it’s also an important antioxidant. Antioxidants help to neutralise free radicals and reduce the likelihood of oxidative stress.2https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/antioxidants-explained#

L-Theanine

This wonderful amino acid has numerous benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, supporting relaxation, and improving sleep quality.3https://www.healthline.com/health/l-theanine# Research has found that the combination of L-theanine and caffeine improves short-term focus and overall cognition.4https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8794723/

Pure Fish Collagen benefits

Collagen is a key component of our Gut Health Protocol, as it supports the delicate lining of the gut. But the benefits don’t stop there! It’s also great for the health of your bones, joints, skin, hair, and nails. As you age, the quality and quantity of the collagen you produce decreases, making a collagen supplement vital if you are over 30.

We recommend a daily dose of 10 g, which can be easily added to various foods and drinks. For more information about our collagen, check out this article – Everything you need to know about collagen – and how to take it!.
