Baked apple & cinnamon porridge

Combat your constipation with this delicious, nutritious and soothing baked apple and cinnamon porridge recipe. Rich in fibre and gut-friendly ingredients, this porridge not only tastes delicious but also promotes healthy digestion and regularity. How? Baked apples are great for softening stools because of the high pectin content, while cinnamon is rich in antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds, supporting a happy and healthy gut.1


Serves 1

  • 90g oats
  • 200 ml goat milk (or milk alternative of your choice)
  • 1 apple, cored and grated (skin on for extra fibre!)
  • 1 TBSP honey
  • ½ TSP cinnamon
  • Optional toppings – yoghurt, chopped nuts, seeds, raisins


  1. Preheat your oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
  2. In a bowl combine the oats, milk, cinnamon, apple and honey.
  3. Pour into a small oven-safe dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until the top started turning golden brown.
  4. Once baked, remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes.
  5. Top with toppings of your choice, tuck in and enjoy!
