The One Where Google Came to Chuckling Goat!…

hahaha if you had told me this would happen – back when Rich and I were driving pints of kefir around in our broken-down Kia, stopping at health food shops and trying to convince them to try out this weird stuff called kefir that no one had ever heard of and it wasn’t sweetened and anyway was super fizzy did they want to buy some? and everyone just looked at us like we were CRAZY…

I would have told you that you were crazy.

But here’s the thing – Google came to our house. Oh, yes, they did. Twenty of them. In four trucks. For two days.

They filmed. They shot video. They interviewed us. They took pictures.

They asked if they could keep all their yogurts and bottles of water in our staff canteen fridge. (I said no – do you have any idea how much space yogurt and water for twenty people takes up? Our canteen fridge is only tiny!)

They wanted to know where the “catering facilities” were. We snorted and said if they were lucky, they might be able to buy a sarnie at the Londis up the road. THIS IS WEST WALES BAYBEE. There ARE no catering facilities.

But then they created this cool campaign. It’s all about the way that small businesses in the UK use Google technology to help them get things done. You can watch one of the videos they created HERE.

And in fairness – it IS pretty cool tech. If you use google workspace (which we do) it’s even free! One thing we’re using now is NotebookLM – (if you click on the 9-dot icon in your google suite and scroll to the bottom, you’ll see the icon for it.) So you can dump a document into NotebookLM – and it will make a podcast out of it. Or a video. It’s wild!

We’re working on offering more follow-up consultations after the microbiome test – so that you get your original consultation, then two more at the 6 and 12 week points, to see how it’s going. And we needed to catch all the Nutritional Therapists up on the plans. So we MADE A PODCAST that they could listen to.

Because I figure – heck, why not? Just because we’re on a tiny farm out in the middle of nowhere, with a little staff fridge and no “catering facilities” – doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have access to REALLY GROOVY TECHNOLOGY! (Especially if it’s free…) The campaign showcases how technology and tradition can work together, proving that even a small Welsh family business can make a big impact.

So, veeery long story short – we’re in the Guardian, and The Observer along with nine other small businesses other inspiring British brands such as Peregrine, Kent Brushes, and Dragon Fire & Safety Services. The campaign runs from October 9th to December 8th, reaching an estimated 240 million digital impressions across the UK. Our video and story appear across YouTube, Sky, Channel 4, ITVX, Amazon Prime, Netflix (static), and social media platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Reddit, and YouTube Shorts. Google even have a dedicated website which features our story.

Digital billboards featuring Chuckling Goat will appear across Cardiff, London, and other major UK cities until early November. Google’s official social media post featuring Chuckling Goat goes live on November 6, spotlighting how we use AI to work smarter and build stronger customer connections.

We’re proud to represent Wales on this national stage—and grateful to you for helping us reach it!

We’ll be up on billboards in these locations:

9/10-5/11 Cardiff Super Motion
9/10-5/11 Tottenham Court Road Digital Gateway
9/10-5/11 Waterloo Motion
9/10-5/11 Old Street Digital Canvas
9/10-5/11 Rail D6 – JCDecaux – 140 sites (~23 per business)
9/10-5/11 London Underground D6
9/10-5/11 ENC Office Screens

Mad, right?

Oh, hey, if you actually SEE one of our billboards or social stuff around, could you take a pic and send it through? I’d love to see it but honey there ain’t no WAY I’m going all the way to London for that shizzle – who would feed my chickens?

And also don’t forget – although we are obviously SUPER MADLY GLAMOROUS and VERY FANCY these days – we’re still just doing the thing. The thing we always do. Talking to folks, trying to help, solving problems. Our Nutritional Therapists are still waiting for you to get in touch, 8 am to 8 pm. And although we’re happy to use fancy tech to communicate new ideas to our team in cool ways – there are still REAL HUMAN BEINGS on the other end of our live chat. Always and forever.

Hugs,

Shann.x
