  • Handful blueberries (or berries of your choice, can be fresh or frozen) 
  • ½ banana

While looking up how to heal leaky gut, I came across this article stating fermented foods like kefir and kombucha contained bad bacteria and/or yeast as well as good ones, and they had prebiotics too. From all the researches I’ve done so far I don’t believe it but I wanted to double check with you whether this was true. (I’ve used your products before) It feels like they’re misinforming people to sell their product really…

      Our kefir specialises in alleviating gut, digestive and bowel issues, including leaky gut!

      While our kefir does contain yeast, it contains the ‘good’ kind that help to keep the ‘bad’ kind at bay.

      The key is to start off slowly – so we advise starting on 1 TBSP per day to begin with, and then slowly and gradually increasing your dosage as you feel comfortable.

  2. I am taking 2 different types of antibiotic and Lanzoprazole to get rid the helicobactre bug. It is a 7 day course – I will be finished by Tuesday. Is there any point in taking the kefir whilst I am on the antibiotics?

    1. Hi there,

      The latest science shows that it is a good idea to continue taking kefir before, during and after your course of antibiotics. The use of probiotics during a course of antibiotics can help reduce side effects and prevent gut infection. You can read the full article here.

      PPIs (such as Lanzoprazole) suppress acid production in the stomach and thus increase stomach pH. Kefir is acidic, with a pH of 3.5. Whether they should be taken together in an individual case is a question for your GP. 🙂
