Everything you need to know about our Super Sensitive Skin Balm!

Our Super Sensitive Skin Balm does not contain essential oils or Kefir. Made with natural herbs, beeswax, and sunflower oil, it’s our gentlest and most hydrating product.

Designed to nurture delicate, painful, itchy skin, it can be used in the early stages of severe dysbiosis, when our Kefir Lotions may be too strong. It can also be combined with our Kefir Lotions, providing extra moisture and a glowy finish ✨

How is our Super Sensitive Skin Balm made?

We make the balm by hand on the farm, by simmering natural herbs plantain, comfrey, chamomile, yarrow, chickweed, and nettle in sunflower oil until the oil is infused with the beneficial properties of the herbs. The oil is then gently mixed with beeswax to become a moisturising balm. Each herb has its own special properties which are beneficial for the skin:

Sunflower oil is a calming emollient for the skin, aiding in moisture retention and enhancing the skin’s protective barrier with vitamins E, A, C, D, and nourishing carotenoids.8https://www.healthline.com/health/sunflower-oil-for-skin

The sunflower oil absorbs the goodness of the herbs. We then strain the herbs out, and beeswax is added to gently thicken the oil into a balm.

Beeswax is natural, non-toxic, and provides its own benefits to the skin:9https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7036894/

  • Natural Moisturisation: Beeswax forms a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture without clogging pores.
  • Soothing Properties: It has anti-inflammatory properties, making it beneficial for soothing irritated or sensitive skin.
  • Skin Protection: Acts as a shield against environmental pollutants and harsh weather conditions, helping to maintain skin health.
  • Rich in Nutrients: It contains vitamin A, which supports cell turnover and rejuvenation, promoting healthier-looking skin.

Like all our products, our Super Sensitive Skin Balm is made by hand, in small batches, right here on the farm. No machines, no automation – just willing human hands! That’s how the love gets in 🫶
